PMAR Names Michele Holen as New CEO
The Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® set for future success.
Portland, OR (September 3, 2021) – The Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® (PMAR) has named Michele Holen to succeed Kathy Querin as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PMAR. Earlier this year Querin said it was her intention to transition out of her role as CEO after serving for 31 years. Holen who has been the Chief Operating Officer at PMAR since 2015 was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Directors.
“Our membership is fortunate to have Michele’s experience and leadership as we move into this next chapter of our history,” said Jessica Tindell, current PMAR President. “Kathy served our membership and community for over 30 years and is leaving us in a strong position, and with a reputation that Realtors® in the Portland metropolitan area are influential community members with a deep connection to the neighborhoods where we live and work.”
“When I met with industry leaders in the summer of 1990, I immediately knew the Realtor® association was where I could make a difference,” said Querin. “Alongside so many great Realtor® volunteer leaders, PMAR has been one of the strongest associations in the nation. Together we’ve weathered many challenges and savored numerous successes. I am forever grateful for the opportunity provided to me and the trust bestowed upon me. With Michele’s leadership and the member’s support, I am confident PMAR will continue to thrive.”
Querin will stay on staff at PMAR through November 30 in an advisory role. Holen, who has been in the real estate industry for 15 years, previously served as CEO of the Clark County Association of Realtors® before becoming Chief Operating Officer at PMAR.
“We are at a pivotal time in the real estate industry and in our market,” said Holen. “It’s important that we continue to push housing issues in the greater Portland metropolitan area that will provide greater property ownership opportunities while also strengthening our industry. Under Kathy, we have had incredible leadership and volunteers who have positioned PMAR to be an influential part of this community. I am honored to take this baton and lead PMAR and our membership into this next chapter.”
