“What Style is it? – Residential Styles of the Pacific Northwest” is a virtual tour of late 19th and early to mid-20th century architectural styles of Portland and environs. This program identifies the vocabulary of key details and styles of the diverse architectural fabric of residential neighborhoods in the region because Eric Wheeler, architectural historian believes that “to name it is to know it”.
Eric Wheeler has over 25 years of experience as an architectural historian and heritage tourism consultant. He has written numerous National Register nominations, taught graduate level classes in architectural history, and designed and led hundreds of architectural/historical walking tours.
Eric moved to the Pacific Northwest several years ago and continues to explore and interpret the captivating built environment of the region. He currently lives in Astoria and is a regular contributor to publications on the North Coast.
