SOLAR ELECTRIC

1) Tax Credit (state): Based on $1.90 per watt of installed capacity (DC) up to $6,000. $1,500 maximum credit can be claimed per year. Limited to 50% of cost of system.

Requirements: Minimum system is 200 watts. Systems must be comprised of new UL listed equipment and must be verified by a tax credit-certified technician.

2) Tax Credit (federal): 30% of cost with no upper limit.

Requirements: Systems must provide electricity for the residence, and must meet applicable fire and electrical code requirement. Expires 12/31/2021.

3) Cash Incentive: Pacific Power customers: $0.40/watt – $3,200 maximum incentive per home . PGE customers: $0.45/watt – $3,600 maximum incentive per home.

Requirements: Pacific Power and PGE customers only. Homeowner purchased systems. Systems must be installed by a qualified Energy Trust solar trade ally contractor.

SOLAR POOL HEATING

1) Tax Credit (state): up to $2,500, depending on the system installed and its first-year energy yield.

Requirements: Equipment must be new and collector must come with a 10-year warranty. Collector area must be at least 40% of the pool surface area if there is a pool blanket, 60% without a pool blanket.

Note: The RETC program is scheduled to sunset on December 31, 2017. RETC devices must be purchased by December 31, 2017, operational by April 1, 2018, and applications must be received by ODOE no later than June 1, 2018.​

SOLAR SPACE HEATING, ACTIVE

Tax Credit (state): $0.60 per kWh saved up to $1,500

Requirements: System must provide at least a 15 percent reduction in annual space heating needs. System must be verified by a tax-credit certified technician.

SOLAR SPACE HEATING, PASSIVE

Tax Credit (state): $0.60 per kWh saved up to $1,500

Requirements: System must provide at least a 20 percent reduction in annual space heating needs and must meet minimum passive solar design criteria.

SOLAR WATER HEATERS

Tax Credit (federal): 30% of cost with no upper limit. Installation costs included.

Requirements: At least half of the energy generated by the “qualifying property” must come from the sun. The system must be certified by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) or a comparable entity endorsed by the government of the state in which the property is installed. Photovoltaic systems must provide electricity for the residence, and must meet applicable fire and electrical code requirement. Cannot be used to heat water for pools/hot tubs. Expires 12/31/2016.
