DIRECT-VENT GAS UNIT HEATERS

Cash Incentive: $100 for NW Natural Customers in Washington

Requirements: Unit must have a minimum 80 percent AFUE and be on Energy Trust list of approved direct-vent gas heaters.

DUCTLESS HEAT PUMPS

1) Tax Credit (state): Varies depending on kWh savings; $625 to $1,300

Requirements: Model must have variable speed compressor; be listed in the ARI directory and provide at least 50 percent of rated capacity efficient operation when outside air is 17° F. and have no built-in electric resistance heat; be installed by a technician that has received factory-sponsored training within the past 5 years.

2) Cash Incentive: $800

Requirements: Electric resistance heat the primary heat source; ductless pump to replace in the main area. Ductless heat pump must be inverter-driven with a minimum five-year warranty. Other requirements apply; see additional program details, below.

Requirements: Only available for low- moderate-income households. See link for details. Must replace electric resistance heat or electric furnace as primary heat source. Compressor must be inverter driven.

GAS FURNACES

1) Tax Credit (state): Varies depending on kWh savings; $352 to $492.

Requirements: Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of 95 percent or higher. Electrically-efficient fan motor (variable speed). System must be installed with ducted outdoor air for combustion. Qualifying models listed on link.

2) Low- to Moderate-Income Assistance: $550

Requirements: Only available for low- moderate-income households. See link for details. Gas furnace must have a minimum 90 percent or greater AFUE and be used as the home’s primary heat source.

GAS BOILER

Cash Incentive: High efficiency gas boiler, $200. Boiler pipe insulation, $0.50 per linear foot.

Requirements: Boiler, minimum 88 percent AFUE, or greater. Insulation must be R-2 or less and brought up to R-8 and incentive shall not exceed cost.

GAS FIREPLACES

Cash Incentive: $150-$350 depending on Fireplace Efficiency (FE)

Requirements: One of Energy Trust’s qualifying models, equipped with an intermittent pilot light ignition, vented to the outside with sealed combustion, meet Energy Trust’s FE standards.

GEOTHERMAL/GROUND-SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

1) Tax Credit (state): Varies from $600 to $900 depending on system.

Requirements: Must be closed loop systems with a performance rating of 3.3 COP for closed loop or 3.5 COP for direct exchange (DX) systems. Must be installed by a tax credit certified geothermal technician. Qualifying units listed in additional program details, below.

HEAT PUMPS

1) Tax Credit (state): Varies from $340 to $1,125 depending on system.

Requirements: Air-source heat pump, heating Season Performance Factor of 9.0 or higher. Energy Efficiency Ratio of 12 or higher. A technician certified by the Oregon Department of Energy must verify the performance of the system. Qualifying units listed in additional details, below.

2) Cash Incentive: Upgrade from an electric furnace, baseboard, wall heater or ceiling heat: $450 (HSPF 9.0) or $700 (HSPF 9.5); or, upgrade from an old heat pump or replacing non-electric heat (examples include: propane, wood or oil): $250 (HSPF 9.0) or $500 (HSPF 9.5). Additional: $150 for heat pump optimization. $150 for heat pump lockout controls.

Requirements: Unit must have a minimum efficiency HSPF 9.0 or greater and be the primary heat source. Ductless pumps do not qualify. PGE or Pacific Power customers only. See additional details, below.

Requirements: Only available for low- moderate-income households. See link for details. Minimum efficiency HSPF 8.8 on units 5 tons or greater; minimum efficiency HSPF 9.0 on units less than 5 tons.

HEAT RECOVERY AND ENERGY RECOVERY VENT SYSTEMS

Requirements: Have a maximum EUI of 1.5 watts/CFm at the lowest fan speed for which performance data is published in the Home Ventilating Institute directory. Qualifying units listed in additional details, below.
